What’s Your Social Score?

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010 by admin

There’s a new number in your life, and you want it to be big. It’s your Klout score and its entirely based on your social influence. So what does this mean? Well for starters…its part of your identity.

Your social score is now going to be based on data pulled from your different social channel accounts. So the more you interact with social media the higher your score. Over the past week already, specific offers have been given to those with high Klout scores. This competitive score rating can only grow from here.

This could become viral within the next few months, especially from a business point of view. With the ability to pull data and rate an individual on their social score, it may be more important than that person’s actual resume. Not only is it available to anyone at the touch of a button, but it reflects just how influential and in sync you are with the social world.

The best thing to do is take control of your number now. Even if this hasn’t officially been revealed to you, it will be. So make sure you’re ahead of the social game by getting involved in any way that you can. Get a jumpstart on the rest of the social world and leverage your Klout score to its fullest potential. In the future, we will all look back and wish we did this sooner.

Consider this your opportunity for some personal SEO and get yourself the highest rating you can. If you build this up now, you don’t have to play catch up later – and you’ll be ready to answer this (soon) important question: “What’s your social score?”

LinkedIn Launches Share Button

As a continued part of their efforts to keep up with social media competition, LinkedIn launched share buttons this morning.  These buttons will allow for even easier sharing of content throughout the LinkedIn network.

Keeping with industry trends is as important as always, and with this added feature doing so will be effortless.  The ability to “Share with LinkedIn” will allow for an effective way to share relevant professional content (white papers, presentations on slideshare) with your business network.   Additionally, the capability to share timely professional content has the potential to breed conversation about your business with clients and colleagues.

Adding the button to your business’ website or blog is as easy as choosing one of the three button options and pasting a couple of lines of code. To start sharing your business’ (or your personal) content with LinkedIn click here.

Facebook and Twitter Work Together With Browser Extension

If you have been wondering when the two biggest names in social media would join forces – wait no more.  With the development of a new browser extension, Facebook and Twitter now have the ability to work together. This new browser plug-in has recently been developed to allow users to “Like” tweets right from Twitter.

Right next to the “Retweet”, “Favorite” and “Reply To” buttons, this new “Like” option will appear when users hover over the tweet itself. All users have to do is download the extension and this option will be available. These “Liked” tweets will also be posted to users’ Facebook pages to share favorite tweets with their entire social graph.

It also seems that this is only the beginning of the integration between the two; discussion of a “post to Facebook” checkbox as well as profile picture synchronization has been revealed. This Twitter integration with Facebook presents the inevitable bond between the two that increases traffic, social engagement and user interaction with even more ease.
